Good question. We are sorry to hear that your emergency travel health insurance has expired with your husband`s pension plan, and we will try to make some suggestions. Unfortunately, few credit cards offer decent travel health insurance for people 65 and older, and even the most impressive cards that cover more than 65 cardholders (such as the Desjardins Odyssey World Elite card or the National Bank World Elite card) cut coverage once the cardholder or eligible party reaches age 75. For people between the ages of 65 and 74, both cards offer 15 days of coverage for travel sickness expenses, and both direct cardholders over the age of 75 to contact the bank if you have any questions about extended coverage. Hi Roselyn, nice to hear from you! Surprisingly, we`ve never encountered this issue before, so we dug a bit into the fine print for all World Elite Mastercard cards to see what you need to worry about in terms of other car rental drivers. In the fine print of the insurance terms and conditions, which you can access online or with the documents sent with your card, you will find a section entitled Exclusions. Exclusion number 12 states that the insurance does not cover accidents or damages that “result from the use of the rental vehicle by a person other than the authorized drivers specified in the rental agreement”. For us, this means that you can be insured for any damage for which other drivers are responsible, provided that they are included in the original rental agreement. Most rental spaces allow you to add licensed drivers for a small fee, so that`s probably what Section 12 refers to. This makes sense to us because if you paid the rent with your World Elite card, the car itself is covered (to some extent), and it doesn`t matter who drives it, as long as the rental agency has listed it somewhere on paper. GreedyRates One of the biggest benefits you don`t mention is PC points for gas purchases. If you use Loblaws gas stations, which are found in most department stores, you will get 7 points per liter.
This is by far the best performance of any gas station. And they have an agreement with Esso in Western Canada that there are 3 points per liter of cashback with the card. While many PC cardholders also take advantage of the opportunity to get big discounts on their favorite restaurants and foods, your creativity is another great example of why we recommend this card. Thank you very much! I appreciate the comment. You are not alone in your disappointment, and customer requests about the lack of support for these applications have fallen on deaf ears on PC. Many other cardholders switch to new cards next to you due to this problem, so we have to believe that the PC will solve it sooner or later, but this is not your problem. Note: Check carefully if you receive a new card in the mail. My husband and I have each had our own PC Mastercard accounts for many years. When I received a new card in the mail, I assumed it was because my old card was expiring. Write down with the card “If applicable, destroy your old card”. Cut out the old card, start using new ones. only to find out when my husband`s next monthly bill arrived that the card I had received was an extra card for HIS account.
The first officer I spoke to to complain told me that the only way this could happen would be if we had asked for it over the phone. I checked my phone recordings. nothing. I asked them to do the same. I waited patiently for a week for an answer. No answer. Called again. Oh surprise. I think the information that I could only be done by phone was false? this change was apparently made manually online. Asked about the process of doing this online, and it`s not something neither I nor my husband had done. it`s not just about clicking the wrong button, but requires data entry….
again, which neither I nor my husband had done. Disappointing service that leaves me with concerns about their reliability. And I still wonder why the supervisor I spoke to never contacted me the first time. Maybe this is a standard operating procedure for PC Mastercard? As for your other question about lounge passes and the nexus. Personally, I think the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite card is the best all-in-one travel card. Your wife could use the free annual passes as long as she travels with you (assuming you`re the primary cardholder). She would not be able to use the passes if she was travelling alone. The World Elite Card will certainly earn you 30 points for every dollar spent at Loblaws stores.
I love the benefits of this card, but the customer service was a challenge to say the least. We were offered 100,000 points for registration. We waited for the 8-12 weeks and did not receive them. We then called for help three times. Each time this was passed on to a supervisor and they advised us to receive a call from them. We have never done that. It`s been almost a year. Only disappointed not to get help with her.
I have a world elite card so the only free visit to the show per cardholder per year = 1 visit.. .
